In The Pink - Diecuts and Punches

Hi Lovely Blogging Buddies

Well it's In The Pink time again...  and we have a nice easy one this time - the theme is Diecuts and Punches..  so I thought I'd go the whole hog and not do any colouring at all... Hope you like! Please excuse the photograph though... the card was lovely to make, good to look at... but SOOOOOO difficult to get to show how good it actually looks in real life on the piccie!

I sponged the background of this card using Distress Inks.. then stamped some snowflakes with Versamark so the colour deepened - they're so difficult to see on the photograph though - I'm sorrry!

Card Recipe:
Distress Ink Sponged Background
Paper Smooches Sentiment Stamp embossed with
Bright White Embossing Powder
Small Snowflake Stamp
Hero Arts/Sizzix Tree Die from Holiday Cheer Set
Memory Box Frostyville  Border Die
CC Designs Holly and Berry Die
Glitter and Gems

We'd love to see you over at In The Pink - hope you can join in the fun!

Big hugs

Penguin love....

Hi Lovely Blogging Friends...

A quickie from me today..  I have a real thing about penguins at the moment (nothing to do with the John Lewis advert - it predates that!) - and when I saw this little one called (aptly enough) Skating Penguin from CC designs a little while back....  decided I just had to have him!!  Imagine then finding he was free on CC Designs Facebook page..  well I was doing the happy dance!

But.....  then he caused me trouble!  He is just TOO cute - and I loved colouring him with my copics.....  but what do you put behind a little penguin with ice skates on??  Of course, I would have liked to put some ice for him to skate on..  but, and I think because of my lack of mojo this week, I couldn't come up with the 'right' design!!  Sooooooo  you'll just have to put up with the same old, same old Li'l Inkers Stitched Dies, A Dee's Distinctively Christmas Stacker Tree Die, and a Memory Box Country Landscape Die.  Oooh and some LOTV paper from one of their last year's Christmas pads.

Of course, some glitter was involved too (!)...  and then I decided the red on his hat needed to be balanced with some red on the card.  Hmmmf... not sure that worked!

Now you'll just have to use your imagination and KNOW that he's heading off to the local lake or river that's iced over to skate on!!  yes??

Big hugs and Happy Weekend to everyone that's taken the time to read my waffling on..  Thank you so much for visiting and any comments you may like to leave..

Wish Upon a Star...

Hi Lovely Blogging Friends...

I'm playing amongst the fairies again today (OK no funny comments please!) - and am here to share with you my DT card for Sugar Nellie.  I'm sure you've met this little fairy before (as I've used her quite often)..  but just in case.... meet 'Wish Upon A Star'.  Isn't she just gorgeous???  She available in digi form from Funky Kits HERE.

I tried to keep her a very delicate shade of pink... and to achieve this, I actually coloured/shaded more around the image with cool grays than coloured the image, to make the very pale pink show clearly.  I think it worked as I'm happy with the result...  I'm really enjoying experimenting with shading around the image at the moment.... it can make such a difference.

Card Recipe:
Image: Sugar Nellie Wish Upon A Star
Paper: from stash - no name on it, sorry!
Colouring: Copics - Pink RV00, RV52,  Shading - C0, C`, C2, Blender
Dies: Marianne Craftables CR1248, , Noor Design Winter Wishes
Sentiment: LOTV
Pearl Trimming and Glitter from Stash

Hope you're all keeping up with the Christmas planning.... it seems to be creeping up so quickly...

Big hugs

Rolled Paper Christmas Tree...

Hi Blogging Buddies...

Well I was so impressed and LOVED the gorgeous card that my lovely blogging pal Kat made for In The Pink last week, that I just had to give it a go!  Kat's was in pink.. (for our challenge) - so I tried to make something a little bit different... however, it was hard as really there's only one way to make a rolled paper tree!

It was so very easy to make though.... I used a wooden skewer to roll my paper around before glue-ing- and I used some bits of paper left from LOTV pads, combined with other scraps that were lying in my bit box in similar tones.  I just cut each roll a tiny bit shorter than the last... stuck them all together on a strip down the back... added a bit of corrugated card for the base, a bow,  then stuck the whole thing onto my kraft card square (cut with my Li'l Inkers Stitched Square die (are you getting fed up of seeing that die yet?? hehe).  I added a star - and it was done.  Not a bit of colouring in sight - just fingers covered in glue!

The letters are from a very, very old Hero Arts set.... but they do come in handy every now and again...

Hope you like this card... and that you'll maybe pop over to Kat's blog HERE to see her original, and PINK creation!!

Big hugs and Happy Crafting..

A KISS creation...

Hi Lovely Blogging Buddies..

Firstly, a huge thank you for your kind words and hugs for me the other day... I certainly needed them and it means a lot to know others are thinking of you, when you're a little down.

Now onto my card... it's our new challenge today at In The Pink and our theme is KISS (Keep it Sweet and Simple).   As my heart hasn't truly been into crafting just recently, this is even more simple than I really wanted it to be.  I'm not over happy with it.... but what the heck... it had to do!

Card Recipe:
Image: Paper Smooches A Little Lovin clear stamp set
Colouring: Copics - R21, R23, R25, C1
Dies: Li'l Inkers - Stitched Square and Stitched Circles
Bow and Glitter from stash... (yes there is a bit of glitter on their toenails!)

We'd love you to pop over and join in the fun at In The Pink..  click on the logo below to get straight there.

I'd like to say a big welcome to my new followers too..  it's so lovely of you to give me the honour of following me..  thank you!

I'm here to share my card for Polka Doodles..  unfortunately this will be the last of the Digi Queens DT posts - as the team is being closed for one reason and another - quite sad as it had not long been formed... but hey ho, I've enjoyed using these cute images in the short time I've been part of the team.  So thanks Nikky and good luck for you and Polka Doodles in the future.

Now I had some very sad (although not unexpected) news last night.... my lovely Mum-in-Law (Mum of my late husband and proxy Mum to me after I lost my own Mum in 1989) - passed away peacefully last night.  She was 90 years old and had been ill for some time, and then had recently developed dementia also.  It is now a blessed release for her.  She was a very kind hearted and extremely special lady -  always a very good friend to me through extremely difficult times - and my girls and I will miss her love greatly.

Big hugs to all..

An Oriental Peek....

Morning Ladies....

Today I'm here with a little sneak peak of what's to come in the very near future from Sugar Nellie at Funky Kits..   this fabulous Oriental Lady will be available very soon!

I wasn't sure how to approach the colouring as I didn't want white to show (apart from in the shine on her hair!)  So I decided the background of the image needed lots of shading..  and I'm happy with the result.  The paper I've used is actually Japanese Origami paper that's been in my stash for years - I knew I needed to keep it for a reason!  There's some gold mirri card there too.  I've tried to match her colouring to the colours of the paper..  and used gold fine pen on the image too... unfortunately the camera is struggling to pick that up.... so you'll have to use your imagination!

Copics: Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20
Hair - C1, C3, C5, C9
Shading - E50, E40, E42 and lots of blender pen
Reds - R05, R34, R46, R01
Gold Fine Liner

Now, if you keep your eye on the Sugar Nellie blog.... you'll see these images released in the very near future..  they are a little bit different to what I'm used to..... but wowwww, I LOVE them!!

Big Hugs to all and Happy Crafting
