(not before you've read the rest of my post of course...)

Now for this special event, and also for my Sugar Nellie Inspiration post today, I took the chance to use one of my favourite Sugar Nellie fairy images (you can't beat them can you?)...  to make my card.  Meet 'Elf Made Magic' - available in digi form from Funky Kits - click on the link below.  You'll find some other fabulous images to choose from too - and be spoiled for choice!

I couldn't help but take one or two (ahem!) photos of this little elf...  can you tell I was pleased with my colouring??  hehe!

Copics Used: Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20, Clothes: BG70, BG10, BG72,  Fur: C1 Holly: G82, G99,

And yes.... I figured out how to do a collage - so had to include that too!! hehe!

So even though I'm not quite back in my pink zone yet today, I'm certainly in my pastel place and loved it!  Maybe I'm not meant for stronger colours.... being the 'ever-so-delicate' person that I am!!  LOL!  Ok, don't choke when you read this!! hehe

Bye for now - Big Hugs to all and see you in our challenge!

Polka Doodles S-C-A-R-Y Halloween........... EEEK!

Hi Best Blogging Buddies....

I'm here with probably one of my most UN-favourite type cards of the year........  I'm afraid I'm not a Halloween lover.........  but as this week's Polka Doodles Digi Queen's theme is for the very occasion.... and I'm not one to refuse a challenge...  I decided to give it a go.  Hmmmmm..  anyone want to buy a cobweb die???  LOL! Enough said!

I used a scrap of Halloween paper that was languishing in my pile of odds and bits...  printing the SPOOKY MANOR straight onto it.  Then I used WITCHIE GOTH - coloured with my Copics (greyish witchie tinge for her face obviously) and fussy cut..  along with a cobweb die from Memory Box and a ric-rac die from Paper Trey Ink.  There IS a touch Wink of Sparkle pen and a bit of black ribbon in there, but it can  hardly be seen so not worth mentioning..

Copics used:
Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20, C2; Dress and Hat: C5, C7, 100, BV00, V09, V15 - White Gel Pen for Lace
Stockings and Hat band: E08, YR04, YR18

Now....... I'm not happy with this card (but that's OK cos I'll be back in my pastel corner soon!!).... however, if you pop over to the Digi Queen's challenge HERE... you'll see some creations that will truly knock your socks off!

Big hugs and Happy Crafting all..

Hi Lovely Blogging Friends..

I have a card today for the fabulous new challenge over at In The Pink...  our theme this time is SPARKLE AND BLING...  yep - that's it.... like I said in the title, right up my glittery street!! hehe!

I chose the lovely Nevaeh from Saturated Canary - I knew her flowing, swirly skirt would be able to be glittered up within an inch of it's life..  and I'm happy with how she turned out...  she looks ready to party don't you think?!

Supplies: Image - Saturated Canary Nevaeh,
Dies: Spellbinders Floral Oval, Spellbinders Curved A2 Borderabilities, Paper - Pion Designs Coffee in the Arbour, Gems and Glitter

Colouring: Copics - Hair E21,25,29, Dress, Socks and Shoes RV91,95,95,34, C1,  Shading W0, 1,3, 5,

Do pop over to In The Pink so you can see what the very talented Pink Ladies have come up with - and this time we're joined by a WONDERFUL GUEST DESIGNER.... I'm not telling you who... you have to go see for yourself!

I hope you're all well... and if you're not, big hugs for you.  I had the results from my MRI scan the other day and I'm told there's nothing abnormal showing up...... (PHEW!! - and no cracks please about my brain just being the abnormal bit!)... However, it doesn't help the fact that I still have a massive big blurry floater in my left eye and have had for 4+ months now!  Just getting old I guess...

Big hugs and Happy Crafting..

Emily is going to a party...

Hi Lovely Blogging Buddies..

I'm sharing a card with you today that I made with Nikky's gorgeous new image at Polka Doodles...  this is Emily Party - available HERE.

I wanted to use this image straight away... so opted for a design I've used before..  but it's a design I love, so thought you'd not be bored!

Emily is coloured with a mixture of Copics and Promarkers... but when I saw Nikky's own colouring of this image this morning - I didn't want to show mine!!  She's used such depth of colouring.. so my pale pastel colours look somewhat insipid!! LOL!

I've tried to make my cake frosting sparkly...  (of course..)  then I used my Lil' Inkers Stitched Square die for the main die cut.  I used a little Paper Trey Ink Tiny Tabs die and stamp for the sentiment... a little bit of ribbon and a tiny bit of twine in a bow... and that was Emily ready for her party!  Hope you won't compare mine too harshly with Nikky's...

Pop over to the Polka Doodles Blog here to see some fabulous ideas!

Poinsettia Girl...

Hi Lovely Blogging Buddies....

Today it's my turn to show a Sugar Nellie card...  and for this one I opted for a style that I don't normally go for.  Firstly - it's green...  (my second green one in two posts!)... but this is a gorgeous forest/mint type green...  And then I did an easel card which I don't often do..  and used a fabulous Leanne Ellis stamp..  don't you just love her Scandinavian type style??

This is Poinsettia Girl - available from Funky Kits HERE.  She was very easy to colour..  I used Copics and Promarkers again...  then created the background of her frame by using my Copic Colourless Blender all over the space.... then my C0 and C1 in patches....  then went over the whole thing again with the Blender Pen.  I thought it gave a good effect.  I added some glitter (of course) in the form of snowflakes...  then a tiny bit of Glossy Accents on the poinsettia to make it stand out.  The bigger snowflakes are Martha Stewart punches - and again, are covered with glitter - with a gem in the centre of each.  Oooh and I used some fabulous LOTV paper from one of their new Christmas pads - it was the perfect green to match this image!

As it's an easel card, I thought I'd give you a side view!  The Merry Christmas stamp is from Poppy Stamps - and I've used it a lot lately!

I do hope you like this card.... I was really happy with how it turned out.... you know when something just goes together well??

Now.... it's going to be an exciting weekend at Sugar Nellie... we're teaming up with Kit and Clowder for their 4000 followers party...  there are lots of events, some giveaways... and lots of fun... so checkout the Facebook page soon!

EXCITING NEWS!!

Hi Lovely Blogging Buddies....

I'm SO EXCITED!! And I just can't HIDE IT...  (got you singing yet??)

I was asked by the lovely Nikky from POLKA DOODLES to join her fab new team of Digi Queens...  (just look at this gorgeous badge..) so was really thrilled to able to take part!

http://www.polkadoodle.blogspot.co.uk/

So here I am with my first DT card for Polka Doodles..  I chose to use Amelia with Basket.... isn't she just the cutest??  And as I had decided to use green (YES GREEN.. not pink...), I thought she'd look good with kraft card too.   She's coloured with copics - then cut with my old spellbinders circle and scalloped circle dies - I'm surprised these dies aren't worn out, I've used them so many times!  The paper is from a Doodlebug Designs pad - Springtime.
You can find Amelia at Polka Doodles here:

I added a little tiny wooden flower embellie topped with a rustic bow..  and finished the card with a PC generated sentiment.  Hope you like...

I'm trying out different hair colour combos at the moment.... I think I like this one - a bit of red in there... yes?

I'm still doing a happy dance to be part of this super-duper talented team and to be able to use Nikky's superb images..  if you want to have a wander over to the Polka Doodles Blog (and I do suggest you do..) - you'll see the wonderful inspiration the other lovely Digi Queens have come up with this time..

Big hugs to all and Happy Crafting..

All Dressed Up - September Launch..

Hi Ladies

Well....... is this year disappearing fast or WHAT??  Here I am, onto making Christmas cards...  yes it's early for me...  but I couldn't resist this little cutie from the new launch at All Dressed Up!

Let me introduce you to Little Christmas Girl 03!  She was a dream to colour (with Copics)  and fussy cut as always.  For the card, I decided to do relatively CAS..... so I did a Distress Ink sky (a la Viv Holden who'd seen the idea on YouTube)... using an ink blender, with Broken China, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot (in that order).  The first you use all over the sky.... then gradually layer the rest, ending with the Black Soot only about a third of the way down from the top.  I dotted stars with Stickles then I cut and glittered some 'hills'!

Then I took another piece of white card, and cut an aperture using a Lil' Inkers stitched circle die.  I raised that up on foam pads to give a bit of depth, put the Little Christmas Girl on the card, then added a sentiment (from Poppy Stamps) - with a rustic bow to finish.  Oh, and I found a tiny star punch to add to the sky which I think worked!

Soooo I do hope you'll pop over to the blog HERE to see what the other lovely Dressies have cume up with...  I promise you won't be disappointed and your shopping list will grow longer!

Here are the new images to take a peek at:

In The Pink .... Buttons and Bows!

Hi Lovely Blogging Buddies...

I'm here today with my card for our new challenge at In The Pink - the theme this time is

BUTTONS AND BOWS
(either/or/both)

Of course, I decided to make life difficult and go for both!
I used a lovely new image from Polka Doodles - let me introduce you to Maddie Shy Curl - available HERE.  I couldn't resist her...  so coloured her with a mixture of Copics and Promarkers.  The paper is also available in digi form from Polka Doodles in a fabulous kit - HERE.

I used a Lil' Inkers Stitched Oval Die for the centre of the card so I could place the image behind it...  then a Lawn Fawn Stitched Scallop Border for the top and bottom...  I then made a double bow from organza ribbon.... added some buttons around the image... and some of my favourite glitter to finish her!

Hope you'll all pop over to In The Pink HERE and join in......  and also welcome our lovely new Pink Ladies with their fabulous creations!

Little Autumn Girls..

Hi Lovely Blogging Buddies....

Today it's the turn of All Dressed Up - we have a brand new challenge - and the theme is

AUTUMN COLOURS

Now anyone that knows me well, knows that I don't get on with browns... (give me pinks any day!)  but I decided to add a touch of spicy marmalade (and a little tiny bit of pink) too..  to brighten my card!

I used one of the lovely Little Autumn Girls (available HERE) - coloured with Copics, then sponged with Distress Inks around the image while the Spellbinders Rectangle die was still in place - to give the white frame.  I used some papers that I found in my stash (sorry no names on them), then created a sentiment on the PC using Always Here Font.  A couple of buttons and a bit of rustic yarn and the card was done.

Hope you like what I did with her and that you'll pop over to our challenge HERE and join in the fun!  Don't forget to use an All Dressed Up image to enter the challenge..
